1. The agreement
By installing the LingoVae app from the Shopify App Store, or by otherwise accessing or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't install the app or uninstall it immediately.
These terms apply to the LingoVae embedded admin app, the theme app extension that renders styled descriptions on your storefront, this marketing site at lingovae.com, and the documentation site at docs.lingovae.com.
2. The service
LingoVae generates rewritten product descriptions using AI, lets you review and approve each field, and writes approved content to Shopify metafields. A theme app extension reads those metafields and renders the styled descriptions on your storefront. We don't modify your original Shopify product copy.
3. Plans, billing, and payment
Free is free, with no credit card required. Paid plans (Starter, Grow, Pro) bill on a recurring monthly or annual cadence via Shopify's billing API at the rates posted at /pricing.
No refunds. The Free tier exists so you can verify quality before paying. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period, so you're never locked into a tier you don't want next month.
We may change prices for new sign-ups at any time. Existing subscribers are notified of any price change at least 30 days in advance, and may downgrade or cancel before the new price takes effect.
4. Downgrade preservation
When you downgrade, voices and features above the new tier cap are paused, not deleted. Your existing styled product pages keep rendering. Re-upgrading reactivates the paused work.
If you uninstall the app entirely, see data deletion for the timeline.
5. Your responsibilities
You agree to:
- Maintain accurate account information
- Use the service in compliance with Shopify's terms and applicable law
- Take responsibility for what you publish — every field requires your explicit approval before it goes live, and you remain the editorial decision-maker for your store
- Not use LingoVae to generate copy that's illegal, infringing, harmful, deceptive to consumers, or violates a third party's rights
- Not reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract our service
6. What you own, what we own
You own: your brand voice, your product catalog, the styled descriptions you approve and publish, and any custom voices you build on Pro. We claim no rights to your content.
We own: the LingoVae software, the catalog of curated voices we author and maintain, our trademarks and brand, and the underlying systems that power the app. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the service for as long as you're subscribed.
7. AI-generated content disclaimer
LingoVae uses AI to generate suggestions. The per-field review workflow exists because AI output requires human judgment — you are responsible for verifying that any text you publish is accurate, appropriate for your products, and compliant with your jurisdiction's advertising and consumer-protection law.
We don't guarantee that AI-generated drafts will be factually correct about your specific products. Review every field.
8. Service availability
We aim for high availability but don't guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, deploy updates, or experience outages. The theme app extension is designed so that an outage of the LingoVae app does not affect your storefront — your original Shopify descriptions render automatically if entitlement checks fail or the app is unreachable.

9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LingoVae and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the service. Our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations; in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold LingoVae harmless from claims arising out of content you publish using the service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of applicable law.
11. Termination
You can uninstall LingoVae from your Shopify admin at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where reasonable.
Upon termination, the downgrade-preservation and data-deletion terms above apply.
12. Changes to these terms
We'll change these terms when we change our practices or as counsel requires. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. For material changes we'll notify installed merchants by email and post a notice in-app. Continued use of the service after a material change constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing law
To be confirmed by counsel before final publication. Likely Delaware, United States.
